  • The edition is the outcome of collaboration among many individuals extending over several years. The work expanded considerably in Guatemala in 1983 under the direction of Elena Hurtado and Susan Scrimshaw with the cooperation of Germana Sanchez and Aracely Esquivel, who were working on a project at the Instituto de Nurticion de Centro America ya Panama (INCAP) on health-seeding behaviour funded by the UNU.
